Well, if you're really brave, you could take a look at 
"QuickTimeFileSink.cpp", which already implements part of the functionality 
required (it generates ".mov"-format files, which are very similar to 
".mp4" files, but only for a small subset of media types, currently not 
including MPEG-4 audio or video).
