All files named "MPEG-1or2<something>" are equally applicable to both 
MPEG-1 and MPEG-2.  Files that support other codecs (e.g., MPEG-4) aren't 
needed for MPEG-2 (or 1), but I don't suggest removing any code until you 
have become very familiar with it (and perhaps not even then).

Note that, in general, once you've made custom modifications to the code, 
you can't expect to receive a lot of free technical support - so you're 
better off leaving it 'as is' as much as you can.
