That should have worked.

Yes, use the "testMPEG2TransportStreamer" test program (rather than 
"testOnDemandRTSPServer", which is unicast only).  (The "test*Streamer" 
applications all use multicast.)

In "testMPEG2TransportStreamer.cpp", you will need to change "test.ts" to 
"stdin".  Also, uncomment the line
#define IMPLEMENT_RTSP_SERVER 1
to get a RTSP server.
