FYI, there's no such thing as "MPEG-3 (or III)".  What's commonly referred 
to as "MP3" (audio) is really "MPEG-1 layer III" or "MPEG-2 layer III".

Actually, the code does do that.  But it's a real mess (it was originally 
adapted from someone else's MP3 decoder implementation, but never really 
cleaned up), and hard to understand.  (Cleaning that code up is one of the 
many things on our 'to do' list.)
