The "necessary and sufficient" member functions are those that are 
declared 'pure virtual' in superclasses - i.e., the two functions 
that you mentioned.

For hints on how to implement "doGetNextFrame()", see 
"liveMedia/DeviceSource.cpp" (and the numerous examples in the code).
