MPlayer has chronic A/V sync problems (that have nothing to do with 
the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" libraries).  I suggest that you instead 
run VLC <http://www.videolan.org/vlc/>.  (There are even pre-built 
binary versions for Mac OS X.)
