Any patches to VLC should be sent to a VLC-related mailing list, not this list.

If you haven't already done so, you should coordinate with Derk-Jan 
Hartman and Jean-Paul Saman, who (I believe) are working on updating 
VLC to properly support RTSP 'trick play' operations - just so you 
don't end up duplicating their work.
