You should test using the pre-built VLC binary version (available 
from the VLC web site) before you try building your own version.

"testOnDemandRTSPServer" is a demo application that - unlike 
"live555MediaServer" - streams only a few, specifically-named files. 
In particular, it can stream only files named "test.mp3" or 
"test.mpg".
