[Live-devel] Why does Live555 not support mp4?

Dear Ross Finlayson,

Could you tell me what the reason is for not supporting mpeg-4? We can
imagine it is just lack of time, or not a high priority for the
live555 developers. In that case, we (if we have the time) or someone
else could jump in and contribute code.

On the other hand, if there are licensing issues or other legal or
"political" reasons this is not an option, and it would be good to
know those reasons.
