First off - a quick apology. I realise that this is a list for developers
rather than users, but I have got as far as I can in diagnosing the problem
and I don't have a development environment to get further.
If not appropriate for here then either ignore this or tell me.

http://www.l1.nl provides the audio stream link as (Radio / Web Radio)
mms://194.171.15.26:554/l1radio
(I have also tried with rtsp://194.171.15.26:554/l1radio )

I can play it with Windows Media Player - but not with mplayer or vlc
I think I have worked out that it is RTSP over TCP.
The final error I see (in mplayer) is:
Failed to initiate "audio/X-ASF-PF" RTP subsession: RTP payload format
unknown or not supported

It seems to be coming from a Microsoft server - WMServer/9.1.1.3814 and
'WMFSDKVersion' = '10.00.00.3997'

I found a reference to problems with handling X-ASF-PF back in December
2006.
So I presume that this is the cause of the problem here.

My guess is that the broadcaster is not deliberately trying to restrict
access - so is there a setting on their server that I could ask them to
tweak to make the stream more widely playable?
