The usual method - i.e.
	genMakefiles solaris
is supposed to work for both 32-bit and 64-bit Solaris.

But if that's not the case, and there's some change that could be
made to the "config.solaris" file in order to fix this, then please
let us know.

Hi.

Sorry, should have stated that. The above mentioned method works fine
and streams fine.

But the result is a 32 bit binary.

And I am having problems reading files that are over 2 GB so therefore I
speculated that this is because of the 32 bitness of the binary.

To explain it further.

If I rip a whole DVD as MPEG2 TS I can play it locally on Mplayer and
VLC (Linux laptop). If I scp the file to the Solaris 2008.11 (AMD 64
bit) server I get a 404 from live555 when connecting through mplayer
(which gives the best error output) mplayer rtsp://server/dvd.ts

If I rip a portion of the same DVD below 2 GB, the server streams it
perfectly. Still as MPEG2 TS.

So I think I narrowed it down to the ability to read files over 2 GB.

I am not a developer so my experience with compilers is limited to
tracing missing libraries and things like that.

Thanks for the reply. Hope this gives further info. If I am all wrong
please correct me.

Kind regards

Michael Skaastrup
