Thanks, but I won't be adding this to the released code.  The 
"LIVE555 Media Server" is intended to be a simple product with no 
'bells and whistles' - aimed at unsophisticated users (e.g., people 
who use "@gmail.com" addresses :-).  Anyone who wants to run multiple 
copies of the server on a single host (for whatever reason) should be 
sophisticated enough to modifiy their own copy of the code, as you 
have done.
