In order to address the trails I mentioned I need to subclass
WAVAudioFileSource to set "fPreferredFrameSize" to achieve the required RTP
packet. This is a  "private" variable. Is it possible to have you move it to
"protected?"

 

Yes; this change will appear in the next release of the software.
