[Live-devel] Server liveness

Hi,
 
I was wondering if there is a way for the clients to check if the server
is still alive.  It may happen that the server dies unexpectedly and
then I want all the clients to stop listening.  I looked on the mailing
list but I was unable to find a way to check server liveness.
 
Any advise will be appreciated.
