I appreciate your comments and already had that knowledge. The problem is
that the location of the default directory is apparently not under my
control, therefore one cannot "point" the server to known location to serve
files from.

 

OK, so maybe that means that you won't be able to run the general "LIVE555
Media Server" application on WinCE.  But if your intention is instead to
just serve a single file, or a 'hard-wired' set of files, then you can run a
variant of the "testOnDemandRTSPServer" demo application instead.
