If you're building the code for Linux, you can use the "config.linux-with-shared-libraries" configuration file.  I.e., run
	./genMakefiles linux-with-shared-libraries

If you're running some OS other than Linux, you'll need to make your own configuration file (perhaps using "config.linux-with-shared-libraries" as a model).
