But the OP (Saverio) is using the “LIVE555 Proxy Server”, which automatically sends periodic RTSP commands (“OPTIONS”, in this case), to accommodate broken back-end servers - like VLC - that don’t listen to RTCP “RR” packets.

I suspect that Saverio’s problem is that he’s using an old version of VLC that doesn’t treat the periodic “OPTIONS” packets from the proxy server as indicating ‘liveness’.  If he upgrades his version of VLC, that should solve his problem.
