I suggest using our “openRTSP” (a command-line application) as your RTSP client; see http://live555.com/openRTSP/

And for the server, if you compile “GenericMediaServer.cpp” and “RTSPServer.cpp” with
	-DDEBUG=1
it will output debugging information (to stderr)
