<blockquote type="cite" cite><font face="Arial" size="-1"

functionality provided by testOnDemandRTSPServer and
the Live555 Media Server?</font></blockquote>
<div><br></div>
<div>The one major difference (although there will be many more in the
future) is that the "LIVE555 Media Server" lets you stream
any file (residing in the same directory), provided that it has an
appropriate file name extension (e.g., ".mpg",
".ts", ".mp3").
"testOnDemandRTSPServer" streams only a small set of
'hard-wired' file names (e.g., "test.mpg",
"test.ts", "test.mp3").</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>In most cases, if you are developing your own unicast on-demand
RTSP server implementation, you should use the
"testOnDemandRTSPServer" code as a starting point, because
it is simpler to understand and work with. In contrast, the
"LIVE555 Media Server" is intended to be a complete server
product that most people will run 'as is' from the pre-supplied binary
version (although the source code for this is also provided, as a
courtesy).</div>
