Hi,
I report the issue to live555, because I have do some investigation and believe it is live555 RTSP server issue, here mentioned VLC just a method to reproduce the issue, you can use and client to reproduce it; Actually I found the issue with our own RTSP client first and then I tried with VLC to confirm;

I put some print to when socket send data out:
When the issue happens, the sending is pretty slow; while with same scale speed, there will be lots of prints;
And most of the time the issue can recover automatically if you wait a-enough-long time, when this happens, there will be very few issue prints at beginning (bad case) and lots of prints prints (good case); in this period I don't do any operation;

It is easy to reproduce, just play a *.ts file with index file *.tsx, switch the speed to 2 or 4 times fast forward / backward, then you will see it;

From: finlayson@live555.com
Date: Mon, 27 Feb 2012 18:31:31 -0800
To: live-devel@ns.live555.com
Subject: Re: [Live-devel] fast forward / backward switch not smooth
