<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=us-ascii"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">I have installed a new version (2013.10.22) of the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" software that updates and improves our custom RTSP "REGISTER" mechanism.<div><br></div><div>In particular:</div><div>- In the "testProgs" directory, there is now a utility application "registerRTSPStream" that registers a given "rtsp://" URL with a remote RTSP client or proxy server. (Bob Bischan may find this useful.)</div><div>- The "LIVE555 Proxy Server" now takes an optional command-line argument</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>-U <username> <password></div><div> that allows you to specify access control for incoming "REGISTER" requests. If you are using the 'remote registration' feature of the proxy server (i.e., with the -R option), and your proxy server is accessible on the public Internet, then it is recommended that you also use the "-U <username> <password>" option, to stop random people from registering streams with your proxy server without your knowledge. (Note: The "registerRTSPStream" application noted above also lets you specify a username and password.)</div><div>- The API to "RTSPServer::registerStream()" has changed (including the addition of optional username and password parameters).</div><br><br><div apple-content-edited="true">
