(It gives comparable video quality to H.264, but with about half the bitrate.)</div><div><br></div><div>H.265 transmission support has been added to the "testOnDemandRTSPServer" demo application, and to the "LIVE555 Media Server" (currently just the source-code; not the pre-built binary versions). There's also a new multicast demo application "testH265VideoStreamer" (similar to the existing "testH264VideoStreamer"), and a new "testH265VideoToTransportStream" demo application (similar to the existing "testH264VideoToTransportStream").</div><div><br></div><div>H.265 reception support has also been added to the "testRTSPClient" and "openRTSP" applications. And the "LIVE555 Proxy Server" now supports proxying of H.265 RTSP/RTP streams.</div><div><br></div><div>(Google has developed a comparable-quality codec called "VP9" - which (unlike H.265) is likely to be made available royalty-free.
