[Live-devel] How to determine the playing duration of a file

I'm writing a mediaserver based on LiveMedia. But i don't
know how to determine the playing duration of a program.
Though the duration can be input manually, there are some
problems in seeking operations. Can I get the playing 
duration through analyzing some piece of code of the 
program quickly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
