Hi Ross Finlayson

Thanks for your inputs.
We have an embedded client with a lesser CPU speed. As it is a closed and lossless network, we could do away with RTCP without any issues.
Can't we synchronize the audio and video using the RTP info from the PLAY response.
I saw that the RTP info is not at all used in the LIVE.COM library. Why is it so?
How to do it?It would be helpful if you could throw some light on this

Thanks and Regards

Hello All,

As I'm doing this part time, everything seems to be going in slow
motion. I am attempting to stream a live camera using live.com api.
I'm having some serious difficulty with the stream.

I put some pix on my website so you can see what I'm seeing:

http://homepage.mac.com/jollyprez/DuckBites/page0/page0.html

Basically, I'm using a Firewire camera into a G5 Dual 1.8 in Tiger
with 1.5GB RAM. I'm intercepting the feed at the Sequence Grabber level.

I add a readout to the frame before compression. Sometimes I'm
recording (which works fine), sometimes not.

I send a separate compression session to live in a subclass of the
FrameSource.

My compression session uses kH263CodecType, and my compression
subsession uses an H263RTPSink. I also am using the OnDemandRTPServer
as my base.

When I hook up a QuickTime Player - which sometimes doesn't want to -
I get the sequence shown above in my website.

I've been tearing my hair out on this for a while. What the heck is
going on?

Any help would be appreciated!

Neil Alexander

Hi

I am using a LIVE.COm library in the client side and Iam using Helix server to stream out the Video stream(MPEG Elementary) to the client.
I have diabled the RTCP communication due to limitations in our client hardware
I am having issues while doing a PAUSE and play. The audio and video are not synchronized after a pause and play.
I observed that the LIVE.com does not se the RTP info to synchronize audio and video after a pause and play. The video leads the audio.
I also find that after a seek the packet being read by the MultiFramedRTPSource::NetworkReadHandler is not the one that is sent immediately after resume.
The first packet received in MultiFramedRTPSource::NetworkReadHandler is some 30 packets(approx) ahead of the packet immdetiately sent after the resume.
Could anyone help on this?

Thanks and Regards
Shobana
