wis-streamer currently does not work on a large number of systems due to
a bug in sscanf.

There is a workaround to handle this in a previous post to the list:

My guess is that the number of people affected by this bug is HUGE. I
base this assumption on the fact that I tried this on a fresh Ubuntu
Linux installation.

I have filed a bug report with Ubuntu, hoping that they will escalate to
the libc developers:
