I hope you realize that our RTSP server implementation (e.g., as used 
in the "LIVE555 Media Server" <http://www.live555.com/mediaServer/>) 
does this automatically.  You don't need to write any new code to do 
this.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I suggest using 
"openRTSP" (with the -V option) as your RTSP client 
<http://www.live555.com/openRTSP/>.  This will show you what is going 
on.
