That is a question for a MPlayer mailing list.  Note, however, that 
our API does support the RTSP "PAUSE" operation, using the 
"RTSPClient::pauseMediaSession()" or 
"RTSPClient::pauseMediaSubsession()" functions.

Alternatively, you could use the VLC media player 
<http://www.videolan,org/vlc/>, which also uses our libraries, and 
*does* implement RTSP "PAUSE".
