[Live-devel] Quicktime and live555

Hi Ross,

I am thinking about writing a sink for live555 that will use the
Quicktime API to save a movie to disk. I would like to follow as much as
possible the way the current sink files have been written. For that I would
need the following information:

a) How can I retrieve the frame rate, etc, that may be sent down by
the streaming server?

b) The file sink will have to be after live555's packet reassembler
has put packets together. Where is the sink given the packets? And how do I
know what type they are (sound, video) and if it was a sync frame?

c) If the reassembler throws a video packet away (say), what happens
to the sound packets for that interval of time? Are they thrown away to?

Once the file sink is complete I will make it available to you for possible
inclusion in the source code of the lib.

            Thanks,

Armando
