The former has audio and video streams multiplexed together; the 
latter is just a single video (or audio) stream.  See the MPEG 
specifications for more information.

That makes no sense, because if RealPlayer is being used to access 
the stream, then it *is* the client (by definition).  (If you are 
talking about launching a media player automatically from a web 
browser, then that is a question for some other mailing list.)
