I'll do this (reluctantly), starting with the next release.  However, 
you should ask for a new firmware revision for your 'black box'. 
Section 6 of the SDP specification states quite clearly that the 
"/<encoding-parameters>" string (in this case, 
"/<number-of-channels>") is optional, especially if 
<number-of-channels> is 1.
