This is the first time you've mentioned *seeking*; I wish you had 
said this before.

VLC has known problems with seeking in RTSP streams (this is a 
problem with VLC itself, not with the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" 
code).  Therefore you should report your problems to a VLC mailing 
list instead.
