Hi Ross,

Recently the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) published its
Core Specification v 1.01
(http://www.onvif.org/Documents/Specifications/tabid/284/Default.aspx).

Currently, I'm ****interested on ONVIF on the issue of JPEG over RTP
(par. 11.1.3). As you know, RFC 2435 limits the width or height
components of the JPEG to < 2048 (while live555 supports a maximum of
2048 pixels, setting the filed to 0).
ONVIF overcomes that limit, introducing a RTP optional header extension,
that could be very useful in multi-megapixel devices (as you know,
hardware MPEG and H264 encoders often can't encode @ very high
resolutions, and all it's left is JPEG).

So, my questions are:

1) Do you plan to support ONVIF RTP/RTSP enhancements in live555
liveMedia libraries in the close future? Particularly, do you plan to
support JPEG over RTP enhanced headers?

2) If not, should we develop support for this subset of ONVIF standard,
and the code shoul be ok for you, would you eventually include it in
live555 liveMedia libraries' future releases?

Thanks,
Best Regards,

Cristiano.
