That's strange.  Several other people have built the code for WinCE, but nobody else has reported having to modify the supplied code in order to do so.

I don't understand this question.  The code is licensed under LGPL (regardiess of the operating system on which you use it).  This means that if you modify the supplied code, and then release a product based on these modifications, then you are required to also make your modified source code available.
