Are you sure that your stream is multicast?  Because I can't see how all three of the following could be true:
1/ Your stream is a multicast stream, initiated using RTSP.
2/ VLC plays the stream OK.
3/ "openRTSP" run with the same "rtsp://" URL does not receive any data.

(BTW, I suggest that you also try running the "testRTSPClient" demo application.)
