From what you describe, it sounds like you’re not just behind a ‘router’, but that you’re behind a NAT box (that translates IP addresses).  RTSP was never intended to work in such an environment, but the fact that you’re able to get it to work may just be luck (and something specific to your particular environment).

But in any case, because you’ve modified the code (and are using an old version), I don’t really have much more to say here...
